Engaging with the text.​

“My sheep hear my voice.  I know them, and they follow me.” — John 10:27 
This book is designed to facilitate encounter with the living God. In a certain sense, it is laid out as a retreat in everyday life in that the text will lead you from movement to movement. The first three parts explore the hidden spiritual principles that govern life on earth. With this foundation in place, the final section offers spiritual exercises that guide you in a discovery of how these governing spiritual principles are at work in your own life. ​The best way to approach engagement with this book is to see the first three parts as preparation for Part Four. In this way, the spiritual exercises are not an afterthought to place in an appendix, but the central purpose of the text: they help you carve out time for an experience of God that gives you insight into who you are for God and for the world.

Why I wrote this book.

For the last twenty years God has been calling me to be a Roman Catholic priest. However, the Catholic Church blocks my vocation, obstructing God's desires for me and many thousands of women around the world who are called by God to serve in ordained ministries. 

Over the years of walking this path and praying through my experience, I have gained spiritual insights that may help others who suffer at the hands of powerful institutions that interfere with God's project of goodness in the present moment. 

My hope is that by engaging this text you become more aware of the specific ways God is inbreaking into your life so that you can be drawn ever deeper into heartfelt communion with God, who will lead you over every obstacle into fullness of life beyond the grip of institutional control.
